Description

Daily Rental of Ski-Doo Renegade Sport - Rotax 600 Ace Snowmobile. Single Seater Trail Sled with a 4 Stroke, liquid cooled motor, electric start and hand warmers. This is a comfortable, easy to ride sled that offers great handling on the trails w/ a zippy motor. This is a TRAIL SLED ONLY! No off-trail riding allowed. Includes 1 tank fuel.

GUEST NEEDS TO BE AT THE OFFICE AN HOUR PRIOR TO RESERVATION START TIME.

-Our 4-hour rental is perfect for going to Burgdorf for a soak or heading to Secesh for a bite to eat and then come back without incurring a late fee.

-Our 5-hour rental is perfect for a soak at the Burgdorf hot springs and also grab a bite to eat at Secesh and then come back without incurring a late fee.

-Our 7-hour rental is perfect to go all the way to warren and then stop at the Burgdorf hot springs for a soak then come back without incurring a late fee.

*** Burgdorf Hot Springs Requires A Soak Time Reservation As They Only Allow 20 Guests In The Pool At A Time. Time Slots are 10am, 12pm, 2pm, or 4pm. The 10am and 12pm slots work best for our rentals. The 2pm Slot Will Require You To Leave Before 2 Hour Soak Time is Up To Return On Time.

You have a choice of 3 options with a 4 hour rental. Here is what a typical itinerary will look like.

8am - Check-in at the McCall Office 1 Hour Prior To Reservation Start Time To Check-in, Sign Waivers, Get Map, Snow Gear, and Helmets.

8:25am - Drive to the Francis Wallace Trailhead and Park with parking pass.

8:50am - Receive instruction on how to operate snowmobile and safety guidelines.

9:00am - Reservation Start Time

9:01am - Decide on destination and let staff know which direction your headed. Choices.... Coppet Creek to hit the top of Brundage Mountain Trail System, or Secesh for Lunch, or Burgdorf Hot Springs to Soak at 10am.

9:02am - 12pm - Play Time

12:01pm - Time to Head Back To Francis Wallace Trailhead

1:00pm - Return Equipment and Do Checkout Inspection w/ Staff

1:30pm - Return Snow Gear and Parking Pass to Office in McCall

10:01am - Decide on destination and let staff know which direction your headed. Choices.... Coppet Creek to hit the top of Brundage Mountain Trail System, or Secesh for Lunch, or Burgdorf Hot Springs to Soak at 12am.

***Depending on how you manage your time you maybe able to do 2 of the areas. It takes about 25 minutes to ge to Secesh from Burgdorf. Others use this time to go into Historical Warren and have lunch as it takes 1.5 hours to get there and another 1.5 hours to get back. Plus they can stop at Secesh for a warm drink as well. Few choose to do Coppet Creek Trail System and make time for lunch at Secesh.

10:02am - 2pm - Play Time

1:30 to 2:01pm - Time to Head Back To Francis Wallace Trailhead Depending on How Far Out You Are

3:00pm - Return Equipment and Do Checkout Inspection w/ Staff

3:30pm - Return Snow Gear and Parking Pass to Office in McCall

(Please Note That You Will Need To Head Back Between 3 or 3:30 Depending on Start Time If You Book the 2pm Soak Time.

***Depending on how you manage your time you maybe able to do many of the areas. You can plan your day to use the full 2 hours in the pool, and return without rushing. Most full dayers either soak in the morning as it's not as full or in the later session, then they have the rest of their day to do what they want. It takes about 25 minutes to get to Secesh from Burgdorf and about 45 minutes to get to Warren. Please keep in mind Secesh doesn't open until 11am.

10:02am - 3pm - Play Time

3pm to 3:30pm - Time to Head Back To Francis Wallace Trailhead Depending on How Far Out You Are

4:00pm to 4:30pm - Return Equipment and Do Checkout Inspection w/ Staff. Return Time Depends on Start Time.

4:30pm to 5:00pm- Return Snow Gear and Parking Pass to Office in McCall

Why take this tour?

Experience the picturesque backcountry in it's natural beauty. From the Francis Wallace Trailhead, you will drive a snowmobile on a groomed county road that leads into historical mining town of Warren which is about 1.5 hour ride. There you can warm up with a hot meal and return back to the trailhead, or make a stop at Secesh for a warm beverage, or a soak at Burgdorf Hot Springs. For shorter experiences you can ride into Secesh which is about 1 hour in, have lunch, then return. Or make a reservation at Burgdorf to soak. It's an hour ride into Burgdorf and 1 hour ride back to trailhead.

 

You will see backcountry lakes, streams, mountains, and lots of trees. Old buildings and new.

The minimum age requirement to operate this single-seater snowmobile is 16 years old with a valid driver's license.
No you shouldn’t as long as you stay on the trail, read the signs, and don’t go into the out of bounds areas. We operate on a County Road that is closed to traffic in the winter months and is groomed periodically throughout the week by the County. These trails lead to 4 distinct areas for you to choose from. Know the boundaries before you go, so we know where to start looking for you if you don’t come back and give our staff a general idea of the direction your headed in before leaving. Our out of bounds areas are past Burgdorf Hot Springs, past Warren, east of Secesh Meadow, crossing Hwy 95 from the Brundage Trail System, going over the river towards Payette Lake or Blackwell Lake.
Yes and No. Driving a snowmobile is like learning to drive a car. Don’t follow too close, beware of your surroundings, and weather/snow conditions. Travel at a safe speed that you are comfortable with. Don’t travel at speeds out of your comfort zone or skill level as you never know what is around the next corner. Most accidents happen from snowmobiles running into each other, traveling too fast and running off the trail to find a tree stump. Drugs and alcohol should never be consumed while operating a recreational vehicle for yours and everyone else’s safety.
Yes, we will show you and go over the operation and safety instructions of the snowmachine. Along with showing you where you can get assistance if needed. 9 times out of 10, it’s the guests that don’t pay attention that end up with damage or in accidents.
Not really…. Some carriers, you can get cell service at the top of Secesh Summit and at the top of Brundage Mountain.
The service is limited…. What I mean by that is there is no hospital or medical trained staff located in the backcountry. If you are in an accident, it’s best to send someone to flag someone down on the trail or to a phone to get service’s coming to you and be aware of your exact location so you can be found easier. They will need to call 911 and then call our staff in the parking lot. Our staff has first aid kits, blankets, and can help direct emergency services to your location. We can also get to you faster to offer assistance until help can arrive. Please know that it can take up to 1 to 2 hours for medical help to get to you depending on your location, the weather, and the severity of your injuries. This is why it’s always important to be cautious and prepared when adventuring into the great outdoors.
The fire station outside of Secesh has an outdoor emergency land line. Also, the staff at The Stage Stop in Secesh, The Baum Shelter in Warren, or Burgdorf Hot Springs will be able to call out for assistance.
Yes, we require all riders to wear a DOT Certified Helmet. You can bring your own DOT Certified Motorcycle or Snowmobile Helmet. Our staff will look at it to ensure it has no cracks or defects.
No, they are not rated for high enough speeds.
Yes, but keep in mind that most ski gear is not insulated as it’s made for movement and light weight. Skiers create energy which makes heat, whereas snowmobiling isn’t much movement. Also, there is a wind chill facture to keep in mind traveling at 45mph. We won’t make you wear our gear but know that we don’t issue refunds due to you not dressing appropriately for the weather conditions.
This is probably the most asked question… With tons of designers making cute little snow boots that we all love to wear, but realistically are not practical at all. Even the staple Sorel boot has joined the madness and has made many stylish boots that don’t work for snow. So here is what I would ask you to consider before deciding…. If you own a pair of boots that will keep your feet dry and warm if you stood outside in 5ft of snow shoveling or walking for 5hours straight, with good rubber soles, then you are good to go. They need to be high enough, so snow doesn’t go over the top of the boot when you are sitting down, and your pants go up. Most good snow boots are rated for either Heavy Snow or -20 Degrees.
Yes, they have small compartments for storage. However, if you want to pack a lunch or towels, we recommend that you bring a backpack or bag that can be worn by the driver or strapped to the back of the snowmobile. Make sure it’s water resistant.
Well, no. However, I can tell you from experience that our heavy duty trucks with 4X4 get stuck in the parking lot at least 3 to 4 times a year. County staff get sick or they can’t keep up with big snow falls and it can pile up fast making it hard to get in or out of the parking lot. I say, give it a go, but if you have a low clearance rear wheel drive car, then be sure to bring a good shovel, sand, tow strap, and some beer money to pay someone to pull you out. On another note… every year a guest or 2 lose their car keys while snowmobiling which can cause a headache of waiting for someone to bring a spare from the Valley, so please be careful where you put them. We are helpful, but not magicians.
Good question! Technically it’s the person that holds the reservation. So, if grandma makes the reservation for everyone, then she is the one that is legally responsible for damages to all the machines under her reservation. Now, how that is worked out among the group is between them, but when it comes to collection time it will be grandma that will be on the hook. To avoid this, we highly recommend individuals book their own reservation and take their own responsibility.

If you need to cancel the reservation closer to the start date, you will be issued a store credit good for 1 year. We must receive notice of a no-show at a minimum of the day prior. Once the equipment is delivered to trailhead, no store credit will be issued. We deliver equipment at 7am.
